Abstract(19) PDF(0)
Abstract:
The mining boundary integral decision at the west Lanshan Mine is taken as an engineering example to introduce the procedures and methods for providing qualitative and quantitative indices for the five subordinate mining boundary decision objectives by establishing the deposit geological model, rock and earth work model, mining process model and economic appraisal model.Priority is given to the implementation of multi-objective decision based on the utility theory and utility function so as to select the optimized open mine mining boundary programme characterized by safety production, stable side slope, operational mining technology, maximized recovery of mineral resources and best economic benefits.
RESEARCH ON THE BURDEN STRUCTURE OF SMELTING THE PANZHIHUA'S VANADIUM-BEARING TITANOMAGNETITE
Ma Jiayuan, Diao Risheng
1996, 17(2): 9-14.
Abstract(15) PDF(0)
Abstract:
There exists a certain kind of difficulty to smelt the vanadium-bearing titanomagnetite in a conventional blast furnace. The overwhelming important condition to smelt such kind of the magnetite is to choose reasonable burden structure so as to control the reduction of TiO2. The result obtained from the research works and the praetices e.g. the burden reduction in the lump zone, the smelting at high temperature, the forming of the first slag as well as the reaction of the slag with iron showed that the smelting properties of the sinter can be improved by addition of SiO2 and adding some fluor-spar, ferriferous manganese ore or some irreducible ores.

Liu Qingcai, Lin Jing
1996, 17(2): 15-19.
Abstract(27) PDF(0)
Abstract:
The diffusion of vanadium in molten iron and V2O5 reduction kinetics are the key factors affecting V2O5 reduction and recovery of vanadium during smelting vanadium-bearing titaniferous magnetite. In this paper, diffusion and kinetics features of vanadium, influence of temperature and titanium in molten iron on vanadium diffusion and interaction of vanadium and titanium diffusion have been examined. Additionally, the kinetics of V2O5 reduction and rate controlling step to smelting V-bearing titaniferous magnetite are also investigated. It is shown that the diffusion coeffcient increases with temperature, and increasing titanium content in molten iron will promote the diffusion ability of vanadium. However, titanium diffusion decreases as vanadium concentration increases. The kinetics feature of V2O5 reduction is that the diffusion of vnandium in molten iron is rate controlling step.

1996, 17(2): 25-27.
Abstract(33) PDF(0)
Abstract:
The characteristic feature of the cohesive dropping zone in BF during smelting V-bearing titaniferous magnetite sinter is examined. Samples prepared from the laboratory cohesive dropping apparatus simulating the blast furnace conditions were studied and the phase composition of this zone was investigated.

1996, 17(2): 28-32.
Abstract(16) PDF(0)
Abstract:
The white cast iron of four different vanadium contents was treated by four heat treatment processes. The mechanical properties and wear resistance were determined. The morphology of V in white cast iron and its effect on the microstructure and properties of white cast iron were analysed.

Fu Hanguang, Yang Zhijun
1996, 17(2): 33-36.
Abstract(23) PDF(0)
Abstract:
The characteristics of the surface alloying process and the demand of mill guides on the material properties are investigated. It is suggested that using surface alloying process for manufacturing mill guides is feasible. The effects of casting temperature, material constitutes and size of alloy powder on the quality of surface alloyed layer are studied. Test results show that desired surface alloyed layer is expected to be obtained provided suitable casting temperature, alloy powder size and materials are chosen. Trial production use suggests the surface alloyed guide enjoys a service life four times that of the wholy alloyed guide.

1996, 17(2): 37-41.
Abstract(19) PDF(0)
Abstract:
An investigation has been made into the characteristic feature of the fine size materials at the Panzhihua Titanium Concentration Plant. Production steps involving water-sealed cyclone thickening, tailings disposal by high gradient magnetic separation and floatation of sulphur and titanium compound are introduced. The process flow regarding recovery of fine size ilmenite is proposed.

Yi LiJun
1996, 17(2): 66-68.
Abstract(17) PDF(1)
Abstract:
The factors affecting accuracy and tolerance of quantitative analysis on rutile and anatase type TiO2 using D/max-RC rotating anode type X-ray diffracto-meter are investigated. It is suggested that the reference specimen method should be combined with K-value method to conduct quantitative analysis on rutile and anatase type TiO2. Under Cu-Kα radiation conditions, the diffraction peak background elimination △2θ is in the range of 0.7~1.2°,scanning rate ≤ 5°/min, the content of rutile or anatase type TiO2 is above 15% in sample and quantitative tolerance is<5%.
