1999, 20(1): 11-15.
Abstract(23) PDF(1)
Abstract:
The fluid flow field in the mold of slab continuous caster at Pangang was investigated by means of water model. The effects of technical parameters, such as the structure and size of submerged entry nozzle, argon flow rate through stopper, and casting speed etc, on the fluid flow pattern in the mold were analyzed. Based on results obtained, the structure and size of submerged entry nozzle, and related technical parameters suitable for slab continuous casting process were optimized.

Abstract(14) PDF(1)
Abstract:
Based on the results of investigation on non-metallic inclusions in continuous cast slab produced at pangang, non-metallic inclusions situation in continuous cast slab of 09CuPRe-B steel and their change during production were understood. The results obtained are used as the basis of clean steel production at Pangang.

Liu Ming, Tang Li, Lu Xiangyang, Chen Sukun, Zhao Anyin, Duan Youquan
1999, 20(1): 22-26.
Abstract(18) PDF(1)
Abstract:
The new 35MnTiB steel grade used for creeper tread of bulldozer was designed. As compared with existing 40SiMn2 steel used for creeper tread at home, the carbon and manganess contents of the new 35MnTiB steel decrease. After heat-treatment, the fracture of the creeper tread made of the new steel grade is decreased in service. The wear-resistance of the new creeper tread is little less than that of 40SiMn2 creeper tread. The service life of new creeper tread is extended.
PRECIPITATION BEHAVIOR OF CARBO-NITRIDE IN Nb-V MICROALLOYED STEEL DURING CONTROLLED ROLLING AND CONTROLLED COOLING
Yang Chunmei, Hu Yisu, Xin Yide, Peng Jian
1999, 20(1): 27-31.
Abstract(12) PDF(2)
Abstract:
The precipitation behavior of Nb(CN) and V(CN) in different stages during controlled rolling and controlled cooling was investigated. The role of precipitates in the steel in different stages was discussed. It is showed that the controlled cooling process after rolling has evident influence on the precipitation of carbo-nitride.
EFFECT OF END ROLLING TEMPERATURE AND COILING TEMPERATURE ON MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF LOW CARBON Al-KILLED STEEL
Chang Jun, Zhang Kaihua, Cheng Xingde, Wang Dan
1999, 20(1): 32-37.
Abstract(16) PDF(1)
Abstract:
The effects of end rolling temperature and coiling temperature on the mechanical properties of low carbon Al-killed steel were investigated through field test and laboratory examination, The results show lower end rolling temperature during hot rolling leads to lower elongation value. The elongation value is little related to coiling temperature. The mechanical properties of cold rolled strip is closely related to end rolling temperature and coiling temperature.
RAIL HEIGHT CHANGE CAUSED BY ROLL STRAIGHTENING
Qin Yuan, Guo Hua, Lin Gefei, Wang Yanzhong
1999, 20(1): 38-43.
Abstract(22) PDF(1)
Abstract:
The contour size changes of rail before and after straightening, involving width of rail head, rail height and rail length, were measured. The causes of rail height decrease were analyzed. The deformation mechanism of rail height decrease was put forward by means of laboratory simulation.
CAUSES OF ADHERENDS FORMING ON THE SURFACE OF PICKLED SHEET AND COUNTER MEASURES
Huang Xu, Dong Jun, He Qiping, Lei Xiuhua, Yao Yongguo, Fang Shufang, Xu Hongjiang
1999, 20(1): 44-48.
Abstract(17) PDF(1)
Abstract:
The stability and phase structure of adherends in chlorhydric acid were analyzed by means of physico-chemical method. The results obtained fully have proved that pickled sheet produced by Pangang is corroded by water during water-washing, thus forming adherends on its surface. The factors influencing adherends formation were investigated. The measures to solve this problem were put forward. The measures were confirmed to be effective in industrial production.
