The direct reduction behaviour of vanadic titanomagnetite is researched in laboratory. The influence of technological parameters on the degree of metallization is discussed, which include reduction temperature, reduction time, atmosphere and the carbon rate. The results show the reduction temperature and atmosphere are the most important influence factors. The degree of metallization can be achieved over 90% steadily at the conditions of temperature being above 1 300℃, over 20 min time and neutral atmosphere or reduction atmosphere. The mineralogy of reduced pallet is analyzed, and the difference of direct reduction behaviour of vanadic titanomagnetite and common iron ore are discussed.
