INVESTIGATION ON AIR LEAKAGE OF PANGANG SINTERING MACHINES AND REDUTION OF LEAKAGE RATE

  • An investigation was made into the wear and deformation of the seal equipments of No.1and No. 2 sintering machines at Pangang(Panzhihua Iron and Steel Co.).Air leakage occuring at various Iocations of No. 2 Sintering machine was measured before and affer its intermediate repairs. The mechanisms of the high leakage rate were investigated and the measures to reduce the leakage rate were proposed.The heavy-hammer seal devices were installed on the wind boxes at the head and tail of No.1 and No. 3 sintering machines and methods for machining the grate play were improved,resulting in a reduction of air leakage rate by 5. 44%respectively.
