In the present work,effects of soft blowing with argon after RH treatment on inclusion properties for pipeline steel X80 were investigated.The results showed that the total oxygen content could be significantly reduced after 25 minutes' blowing.The inclusions of above 6 μm in size were almost completely removed after 25 minutes of soft blowing.The number of inclusions of 1~5 μm in size could be obviously reduced with the increase of the time of soft blowing.However,CaS type inclusions would increase with the decrease of temperature of molten steel during the soft blowing,which was bad for casting.Considering the results of the decrease of inclusion magnitude and the effects on the temperature of the molten steel,the best of soft blowing time was 20~25 minutes.
