TiO2 was prepared by a process of NaOH decomposing-HCl leaching with titanium slag from Panzhihua as raw material.The phase transformations of titanium slag during NaOH decomposition were analyzed using XRD.The results suggest that the decomposition of titanium slag by NaOH is a multistage process,viz.M3O5(M=Fe2+,Ti3+,Ti4+)→Fe3Ti3O10 → Fe2TiO5 → α-NaFeO2,Na2TiO3.The effects of HCl concentration,amount of Fe additive,solution pH,deposition temperature and time on the content of TiO2 in the final products were studied during the HCl leaching process.The optimized conditions are determined at HCl concentration of 5 mol/L,Fe addition amount of 0.6 g,deposition time of 40 min,deposition temperature of 45℃ and solution pH=2,with 98.36% of TiO2 in the final products.
