The electric furnace nickel-iron slag emission is increasing,but the direct utilization rate is low.In order to improve the comprehensive utilization value of electric furnace nickel iron slag,ultra-fine pulverization experiments were carried out on a LNGS-80 steam power mill(total power 6.7 kW,steam consumption 80 kg/h).The effects of the classifier speed on the particle size,specific surface area and output of the electric furnace nickel-iron slag were studied.The energy consumption and cost for milling the nickel-iron slag by the LNGS-10 T steam power mill(total power 165 kW,gas consumption 10 000 kg/h) were estimated.The results show that the ultra-fine powder commonly with d50=12.9~52.7 μm,specific surface area of 305~669 m2/kg and yield of 167~480 kg/h,or the ultra-fine powder with d50=2.4~4.7 μm,specific surface area of 1 788~2 669 m2/kg and yield of 35~80 kg/h can be prepared by pulverization and classfication of electric furnace nickel-iron slag using LNGS-80 steam power mill.It is estimated that LNGS-10 T steam power mill can prepare fine powder of electric furnace nickel-iron slag with d50=28.5 μm and specific surface area of 464 m2/kg,and the system power consumption is 5.2 kWh/t which saves 89% of power consumption and 11% of cost compared with the roller mill.
