The mechanical properties and grain sizes of low carbon steel with different vanadium content were tested under large deformation. The results show that vanadium has no effect on grain refinement when rolled at higher temperature, but when rolled at lower temperature, vanadium can refine ferrite grain and enhance the yield strength and the tensile strength of low carbon steel.
