Abstract:
Proper gaseous composition was determined by means of thermodynamic analysis, based on the results of which,the kinetic behaviors of the stepwise reaction in the course of the reduction of preoxidized ilmenite, Fe3+→Fe2+ and Fe2+→Fe, were investigated. According to the kinetic analysis and the microstructure examination of the cross-section of partially reacted grains, the nucleation and growth of the newly formed phases were the rate-controlling step for the overall reduction of ilmenite under the experimental conditions. The apparent reaction rate constants of the two stepwise reactions were determined.

Abstract:
The experimental methods are briefly introduced to measure the properties of hot metal in blast furnace at Pangang, The influence of [C], [V], [Ti], [Si] and [S] contents in hot metal was discussed on the viscocity, melting temperature, and freezing point of hot metal. The proposals are made for controlling composition of hot metal in the blast furnace at Pangang.

Abstract:
The surface temperature distribution of the strand from Pangang's slab caster has been measured under industrial production condition, A two-dimensional heat transfer mathematical model of continuous cast slab during slab cooling and freezing has been developed. The effect of continuous casting parameters on temperature conditions of the strands is described. The control of final solidification process for continuous casting and the simulated computation results of the heat-insulated transportation have been analysed and discussed.

Abstract:
The precipitating agent(NH4)2SO4 is added to the solution containing high concentrate(V30g/L) sodium vanadate to from ammonium polyvanadate. The process conditions for ammonium polyvanadate precipitating form the solution and their in fluence on the quality of V2O5 product have been studied. Based on results obtained from laboratory tests,it was found that the precipitating rate is more than 99%,the quality of V2O5 product conforms to GB3283-87 standard.

Abstract:
The small size particles produced during ferrovanadium sizing operation are formed into nitrided briquette so as to obtain nitrided ferrovanadium, The effect of ferroalloy size, pressure, nitriding temperature and nitniding time was studied on the nitrogen content of the product. The experiment shows the product of N:V>0.1 is obtained by means of optimization of process parameters.

The cutting tests were carried out for five cutting tools made of different materials. The influence of blade hardness, bending strength and hot hardness were analyzed on the stock removal rate, service life of cutting tool. It was found that the J11 cutting tool is suitable for cutting semi steel roll.

Abstract:
The effect of chemical composition of vanadium bearing hot metal in Pangang's blast furnace on desulphurization of hot metal, vanadium recovery from hot metal and steelmaking process is analyzed on the basis of the metallurgical features of V-Ti-bearing magnetite and the characteristics of smelting process in blast furnace. It is suggested that every smelting step should play a positive role during V-Ti-bearing magnetite smelting process, by experimental study, the chemical composition of vanadium bearing hot metal in blast furnace is made to optimize, so as to gain more benefit.
