Abstract:
An experiment was conducted for the hot metal deformation resistance of 09cuPRE,16Mn,Q235 grades using the thermal simulation testing machine.According to the effect of deformation temperature,velocity and degree on the deformation resistance,the computation model of deformation resistance was selected.The model parameters were determined through multi-element non-linear regression data processing,resulting in a model with higher fitting accuracy.Charts and tables worked out in accordance with the model can be directly referred to.

Abstract:
The experimental study of foaming phenomenon of titaniferous slag during V-Ti-bearing magnetite smelting was conducted using different additions.The results show that a certain amount of additions can restrain TiO2 reduction,decrease the slag viscosity and improve the foaming phenomenon of the slag. Therefore,the foaming height of the experimental slag is similar to that of TiO2 containing blast furnace slag from Panzhihua Iron and Steel Co..

Abstract:
Li2O was added to two base powder with different glassy properties so as to study the effect of Li2O on the viscosity, melting temperature and glassy property of mold powder.The mechanism how the glassy property of mold powder is improved by Li2O was investigated,and an approach was proposed to choose an substitute for Li2O used in the mold powder for high speed continuous casting.

Abstract:
The weldability of the home-made plain carbon structural steel SS41 (non-welding steel) was studied.A comparative test was made for the Q235 steel with the same composition and plate thickness.It is shown that the weld joint of SS41 steel welded by the low hydrogen electrode E4315 (by hand electric arc welding) and H08A welding wire added with HJ431 welding flux (by-submerged arc welding) has mechanical property corresponding to that of Q235 steel.The SS41 steel can be substituted for Q235 steel,is used for important welding structures.

A complete and detailed investigation was made on the coal resources,types and its processing industry in Yunnan,Sichuan and Guizhou Province,particularly in the Pan-Xi Region,and massive data were obtained.According to the special requirements for coke quality for smelting vanadium-bearing titaniferous magnetite in the blast furnace in Panzhihua Iron and Steel Co.and the existing problems faced with the coking coal in the Coal Chemical Company,solutions were proposed accordingly.

Abstract:
The methods of world-wide sheet shape control of hot rolled strip steel,i.e.hydraulic roll bending,roll cross sliding four-high mills (HCW,CVC,etc.) and PC+ORG mills and the technologies of sheet shape on-line determination and on-line control are reviewed.An investigation is conducted on the inherent imperfection of traditional four-high hot rolling mills.The optimum plan is proposed to reform traditional rolling mills.The suggestions are put forward for Panzhihua I.& S.Co.to adopt this technology.
