Abstract:
The high temperature oxidation resistance and rapid cooling and heating resistance of high chromium cast iron,and effects of vanadium and various alloying elements on heat resistance of high chromium cast iron were investigated. The heat resistance of high chromium cast iron is adversely influenced by vanadium. Therefore, the vanadium content in high chromium cast iron used for metallurgical spare parts is seriously controlled.

Abstract:
Study on reduction of vanadium oxide in titania slag containing 0~5% MnO. The results of experiment show that the apparent equilibrium constant (IgKsi-v) of Si-V increases with increasing initial MnO,and decrease with increasing initial TiO2,with increasing slag basicity when R >1. 2. The reduction reaction of vanadium oxide can't reach equilibrium in the blast furnace. The reduction of vanadium oxide is restricted by dynamic condition. Reduction reaction is one of two steps. The apparent activation energy is equal to 172 kJ/mol. The reduction rate of vanadium oxide is restricted by V3+ diffusion in slag during initial reduction. But it is restricted by SiO2 reductionrate when Si-V coupled reaction has reached equibrium. Some measures of increasing the reduction rate of vanadium oxide were pointed out.

Abstract:
The article mainly discusses the full-scale fatigue testing of steel rail with the material tester MTS TestStar,the results of which indicate that it is necessary to further clarify and specify the specifications originally defined for the testing conditions in the standard TB1354-79. Within the range of testing conditions,the increment of loading frequency does not affect the test result, while the excessive gripping force may give rise to detrimental influence.

Abstract:
In this paper the effect of the carbonate foaming agents which are composed of dolomite, limestone and barium carbonate on the foaming of molten LF slag is discussed. In the laboratory the nine kinds of foaming agent are tested in the two kinds of molten slag. The foaming time and the foaming height of the molten slag are measured. The foaming index of the molten slag is calculated. The results show that the foaming agents of the single component have different foaming behavior because the decomposition temperatures of carbonate are different. The foaming index of the foaming agent composed of the three components (dolomite,limestone and barium carbonate),the mixture ratio of which is equal,is the largest in the nine kinds of foaming agent.

Abstract:
With a review to the fact that domestic cold ore sieve plates are generally made of CrMnN heat-resisting steel, which has a short service life and freguent replacement, new sieve plates with wear-resisting high Cr cast iron containing K and rare earth have been developed. The installed application has shown that this sort of sieve plate has a better result in safety and reliability,the application of which is worth spreading.

Abstract:
The present paper mainly introduced the properties of full-length heat-treated steel rails produced by some major companies at home and abroad. The inspection analysis to the practical properties of some full-length heat-treated steel rails have proved that V-containing micro-alloyed heat-treated rail PD3 made by Panzhihua Iron & Steel Corp. ranks first in the comparison of comprehensive mechanical property; the indexes of comprehensive properties of plain carbon heattreated rail PD2 also produced by Panzhihua Iron & Steel Corp. is by no means inferior.to the foreign counterpart,the hardness and strength of Japan-made Cr-alloyed rail DHH with on-line heat treatment are equivalent to the off-line heat-treated carbon rail,but the toughness is slightly lower.

Since November of 1995 the BF No. 1 of Pangang (Panzhihua Iron & Steel Corp.) suffered an unstable operation with a big fluctuation of production level,during which the operation conditions once more deteriorated by the end of March, 1996.in order to restore the normal production as soon as possible,a fire shooting team was organized to tackle this problem in the iron works. Abstract:
With the assistance of osoilloscopic impact technique,dynamic bending yield strength σyd and maximum behding yield strengih σmax were derived by the graphit method on the basis of loading-displacement curve,and then cleavage fracture stress σf was obtained accordingly. The test result showed that the ratio of dynamic strength and static strength is 1.25~1.30,by which the value of low temperature tensile strength of material could be evaluated.
