Abstract:
In laboratory conditions,experiments have been conducted to test tLe effects of both the constitution of CaO-SiO2-Al2O3-MgO-TiO2-FeO slag and the different methods of carbon supply on TiC formation in smelting reduction process,for which the thermodynarnical analysis has been done as well. The study suggests that the mechanism of TiC formation bears a close relation to the technological conditions.

Abstract:
In this paper,the possibility of steel composition readjustment by manganese ore direct alloying in converter steelmaking process is considered by thermodynamic diagram and isothermal equation. The effect of(FeO) content in slag and slag volume on direct alloying process is discussed.

Abstract:
Chemical composition and physical properties of PXB-1 hollow granulated continuous casting powder are designed by analysis of BXAT casting powder of Italy in detail and by means of a series of laboratory research,also with reference to the continuous caster conditions and process parameters of Panzhihua Iorn & Steel Company(PZHISC).The application experiment was carried out in PZHISC continuous caster. The results show that the mold powder is available to PZHISC continuous caster conditions,and better than other casting powder at home.

Abstract:
The fracture failure analysis was carried out on the two lengths of fractured and cracked welded 16Mn steel penstock used for hydroelectric power plant with reference to the chemical composition and physical property of the standard steel plate of GB1591-88 for low alloy structural steel;the technique of thermal simulation for welding was adopted to evaluate the notch sensitivity,impact toughness and thermal strain embrittlement tendency of the heat affected zone; through the welding crack test of inclined Y groove,physical inspection of mechanical property of welded joint,etc,the steel plate quality and welding process were reviewed as well.

Abstract:
With Sharpy impact specimen,an experimental study was carried out on the dynamic fracture toughness KId of heavy rail steel using a pendulum impact tester. The dynamic geometrical factor f(a/W) for heavy rail steel was measured with the method of dimensionless flexibility. The test result has shown that the loading rate and experimental temperature including the range of specimen's width have a considerable effect on KId. The present achievement has a certain referen-tial value for the evaluation of dynamic fracture toughness of heavy rail steel produced by Panzhi-hua Iron and steel Corp.

Abstract:
The research on the proportioning schedule for ceramic tile production was conducted with local cheap raw materials instead of 3 expensive ones originally purchased outside. As a result, a bronze-coloured and iron red proportioning schedule was successfully developed, and the process of high temperature oxidation pretreatment of waste slag at pangang was cancelled. The practice has shown that the product property has reached or overtaken the standard EN-176- 91 and the cost has greatly decreased.
