In laboratory conditions,experiments have been conducted to test tLe effects of both the constitution of CaO-SiO2-Al2O3-MgO-TiO2-FeO slag and the different methods of carbon supply on TiC formation in smelting reduction process,for which the thermodynarnical analysis has been done as well. The study suggests that the mechanism of TiC formation bears a close relation to the technological conditions.
