On the base of metallurgical mechanism in multi-strand tundish, the scheme of choosing internal shape and design rules of flow control device for six-strand tundish were put forward. The results show that optimized internal shape of the tundish is an approximate T-shape tundish for six-strand bloom caster at PZH Steel. The rational flow control device in the tundish is a combination scheme with a weir and two dams.
