PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGY FOR RARE EARTH TREATED STEEL AT PANGANG

  • The technology for rare earth treatment of molten steel was developed. The molten steel is deoxidized and desulphurized using alcalin-earth metals(Ca, Ba, Mg) before rare earth adding into molten steel, then the combined cored wire containing rare earth is fed into molten steel so as to produce alloy structural steel and spring steel.After treatments above, the rare earth cored wire is fed into mold when the quality steels such as line pipe, automobile frame steel plate and weather-resistant steel etc.are made.The total oxygen content of the quality steel is ≤ 20ppm, they have good mechanical properties.
