PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGY FOR RARE EARTH TREATED STEEL AT PANGANG
Jia Liandi, Gu Jin
1999, 20(3): 6-10.
Abstract(17) PDF(1)
Abstract:
The technology for rare earth treatment of molten steel was developed. The molten steel is deoxidized and desulphurized using alcalin-earth metals(Ca, Ba, Mg) before rare earth adding into molten steel, then the combined cored wire containing rare earth is fed into molten steel so as to produce alloy structural steel and spring steel. After treatments above, the rare earth cored wire is fed into mold when the quality steels such as line pipe, automobile frame steel plate and weather-resistant steel etc.are made. The total oxygen content of the quality steel is ≤ 20ppm, they have good mechanical properties.

1999, 20(3): 11-14.
Abstract(18) PDF(1)
Abstract:
The cold state characteristics of spray nozzles in secondary cooling zone of slab continuous caster were investigated. The relation between pressure and water flow rate, distribution of spray water flux, and distribution of spray angle and water droplet diameter were measured under different spray water conditions. The characteristic curves of spray nozzles made at home and abroad were analyzed. The more rational parameters are provided for domestic plants to produce spray nozzle.

1999, 20(3): 19-23.
Abstract(23) PDF(1)
Abstract:
Based on measurement of strand surface temperature and solidified shell thickness, the average heat exchange coefficient and general solidification coefficient in various secondary cooling zones were obtained The state-of-art of secondary cooling was evaluated considering various factors The results obtained form an important basis for optimization of secondary cooling schedule and improvement of caster efficiency.
EFFECT OF VANADIUM CONTENT ON WELDABILITY OF HIGH STRENGTH RAIL STEEL
Xu Quan, Mei Dongsheng, Ran Xiaofeng
1999, 20(3): 24-29.
Abstract(22) PDF(1)
Abstract:
The effect of different vanadium contents on weldability of high strength rail steel was investigated by means of thermal simulating test. The results obtained show that the addition of about 0 08% vanadium to the rail steel has no harmful effect on the microstructure and properties of heat affected zone(HAZ).

1999, 20(3): 30-36.
Abstract(17) PDF(1)
Abstract:
The ore Matching tests for sintering were carried out with several common iron ore powder used at Pangang The rational ore matching scheme and relative technical parameters were obtained The results obtained provide an important basis for selecting rational ore matching scheme used for practical production.

Abstract(23) PDF(1)
Abstract:
The thermodynamic characteristics of (V-O-C-N) and (V-O-H-N) systems are analyzed and discussed by means of thermodynamic method. The results obtained provide the theoretical basis for preparation of metallic vanadium, its carbide and nitride when carbon or hydrogen is used as reductant and vanadium oxides as raw materials.
