Abstract:
Variations in the solidification coefficient of molten steel with in mold were investigated by means of measuring the solidified shell thickness of molten steel in mold-The comprehensive cooling ability for the existing continuous casting mold is reviewed in combination with dissectional test on solidified shell in molten steel leakage, which provides an important basis for high speed continuous casting of slabs.

Abstract:
Improved molten steel temperature control at high casting speed of 1.8 m/min for Pangang casteris introduced.A lot of measures such as ladle insulation, preheating ladle, heating molten steel in LF and molten steel temperature adjustment with slab scrap, tundish insulation, used for controlling temperature drop are adopted.Tapping temperature of molten steel is decreased by 10~15℃ in comparison with conventional one.A satisfied result with ≤ 25℃ overheating degree of molten steel in tundish is achieved.

Abstract:
Experimental results of improvement of Panzhihua vanadic titanomagnetite concentrate grade and reduction of TiO2 grade indicate that the concentrate grade of vanadic titanomagnetite can be increased to over 55% TFe, while TiO2 grade is only increased by 0.16% and total amount of TiO2 into blast furnace is decreased by 7% through demagnetization-regrinding-magnetic separation for the existing Panzhihua vanadic titanomagnetite concentrate.Under the conditions of TiO2 content < 25% in blast furnace slag sinter grade can be increased to 49% with ore matching by means of calculation, which has some outstanding effects on the reduction of slag volume, the improvement of blast furnace productivity and the reduction of coke rate.

Abstract:
The main reasons for nozzle blocking are analyzed through an investigation of plugged nozzle and morphology of accretion. The nozzle is prevented from blocking by means of argon blowing technique with tundish stopper.Industrial experiments show that the technology not only can efficiently prevent the nozzle blocking and increase the numbers of continuous casting heats of low carbon aluminium-killed steel, but also improve steel cleanliness.

Abstract:
The results of integral change of steel tapping hole, extending service life of it, stably tapping time and tapping temperature drop, reduction of slag carring over and increase of alloy recovery are achieved by the establishment of long life technology of tapping hole in 120 ton converter at Pangang and the application of boring technique.It is of particular advantage to reduce labor strength, stabilize technological operation and improve steel quality.

Abstract:
The upper shaft lining of No. 1 blast furnace for smelting high TiO2 bearing vanadic titanomagnetite is repaired by forcing and gunning methods. The results show that the gas flow distribution, the gas utilization and the economic index of blast furnace were improved after lining repair. Lining repaired by forcing process has the poor homogeneity and short service life in comparison with that by gunning process.

Abstract:
The technological process and the properties of 20CrMnTi, 40MnB, 60Si2Mn, and 55SiMnVB steels smelted in Pangang 120 ton converter are described. The problem of control of chemical compositions of steels is solved through the technical measures of ladle refining, i.e. calciumbase Pre-doxidizer addition, aluminium wire feeding and complex cored wire feeding into molten steel in ladle before steel tapping and the technical improvement of Fe-Cr alloying process.As aresult, the required harden ability and cleanness of steels are ensured.The 20CrMnTi, 40MnB, 60Si2Mn, steels are perfectly suitable to use in automobile industry.

Abstract:
Technological features of CIT-M infrared-radiation temperature measuring system are described. The strand surface temperatures of typical steel grade cast at various casting speeds are measured by use of it. The effect of the withdrawing speed and the cooling intensity on the strand surface temperature is discussed. The results obtainted form an important basis for the optimization of water distribution in secondary cooling zones at Pangang slab continuous caster.

Economical principle of the drift-orepass transportation is explained and thirteen economical indexes of drift-orepass are proposed.The ways to modify these passes are demonstrated as the examples of twelve Pangang mine passes.It is considered that the increment of ore and rock transportation volume throughout passes, the extension of service life of adits and passes and the improvement of economical benefits to mining can be achieved by means of modification.
