Abstract:
Based on the process of ferric iron powder production with hydrochloric acid pickling solution at Cold Rolling Plant of Pangang. the effects of temperature, concentrated acid density,coal gas calorific value and composition etc. On the quality of ferric iron powder are discussed. It is considered that the quality of ferric iron powder can only be guaranteed under the conditions that the temperature is around 630~670℃, the concentrated acid density 1.3~1.4kg/m3, the coal gas calorific value 1900kJ/Nm3 and air-coal ratio 0.9~2.0. It is critical to decrease silicon content in ferric iron powder for the improvement of product quality.

Abstract:
Facing the tendency of annual degradation of coking coal quality at Panzhihua Iron and Steel Corp.,a series of tests are conducted in a 200kg coke oven to satisfy the requirements of coke quality for the blast furnace operation with pulverized coal injection. As a result,some measures for the improvement of coke quality have been proposed such as the proper addition of fat coal,rational use of suburban coal and control of blending fineness.

Abstract:
The present paper introduces a guide suitable for section steel production, which is built-up and mechanically composed of high temperature resistant component and matrix material with good toughness. This guide has the advantages of structural flexibility and easy on-line disassemble and mounting. The practice has shown that the service life of the inlay clad guide is 10 times longer than that of the original integral cast steel guide and a better economic and social benefit has been achieved.

Abstract:
A alarming system used for measuring upper and lower limit of hot return sinter level in bin at Sintering Plant of Pangang was developed. The technical problems present in measuring upper and lower limit of hot return sinter level in bin were solved. The alarming system runs reliably,measurement cost is lower and measurement error is small. This system is suitable for measuring upper and lower limit of high temperature powder and granular material in bin.

With regard to the problem that the bottom pipe of coal-fired reheating furnace is frequently burned bent and the bloom reheating temperature is relatively low at 410 Plant,the rational layout of evaporative cooling system pipeline for the reheating furnace and the height of furnace hearth are analyzed with the modification measures raised accordingly, after which the bottom pipe-burned-bent has never occurred since February 1994 and the reheating capacity has been improved.
