Abstract:
The oxygen probe made specially,sealed by refractory cement and adopting ZrO2 base solid electrolyte tube, reference electrode with Cr.Cr2O3 powders,Mo electrode lead wire,has a good measuring stability.By experiments,the oxygen potential for high TiO2 containing blast furnace slag is determined,successfully.It shows,by the measured results, that the oxygen partial pressure of Panzhihua Iron and steel Co. blast furnace slag is about 1.01325×10-9pa and is round 100 times higher than general blast furnace slag.

Abstract:
In this paper the effect of particle size of TiC and TIN in high titania blast furnace slag on the viscosity of this type slag is discussed.The viscosity and melting termperature of the slag samples having different amount and size of TiC and TiN particle are measrued in the laboratory.Also the dispering pattern of TiC and TiN in slag samples has been analyzed by an image analysis device,The results show that the viscosity of the slags will increase with the increase of the amount of TiC and TiN added in the range of 0~8%. When the same amount of either TiC or TiN added,the smaller the particle size is,the thicker the slag is. But TiC has more effect on the slag viscosity than TiN when their amount in slag is equal and their particle sizes are approximate.

This paper proposed firstly the idea of identical load sintering,discussed the mechanism of enhancing sinter productivity and improving sinter quality by the technique,and described the experimental results about applying load to upper layer and reducing load on lower layer.At last,the necessity and the feasibility to use identical load sintering technique to sintering plant in Panzhihua Iron & Steel Co.have been analysed.

Abstract:
The principal processes and physical metallurgy of direct connection of continuous casting-hot rolling technology is reviewed.A comparison is made between the direct connection of continuous casting-hot rolling and conventional hot rolling technology so as to investigate the reasons that cause differences in product micro-structure and mechamical properties.The production applications of the direct connection of continuous casting-hot rolling technology are proposed depending on different grades with different properties.

Abstract:
Based on the continuous caster tundish dimension and process parameters used at the V-recovery and steelmaking plant,Panzhihua I. & S. Co.,a tundish model of 1/4 full scale was made of organic glass;The residence time distribution(RTD)curve of molten steel in the tundish was measured and the average residence time,and volumetric proportion of dead,plug-like and mixture zones were calculated.Theresults obtained are a basis to determine rational dam location,and it was proposed from these results that critical liquid level, minimal liquid level when replacing the ladle and normal production liquid level in the tundish,providing a guardance for continuous casting operation at Panzhihua I. & S. Co..

Abstract:
The characteristics of the chemical compositions and mineralogical phases of the converter slag Panzhihua Iron and Steel Co. are described.The phase constituents of the slag added with manganese ore or spar and quartz sand are analysed.It is shown that different flux results in different mineralogical phases in dephosphorization and desulphurization. An investigation ha:been made into the impact of different flux on the converter lining,concluding that the slag added with manganese ore is viscous and protective to the lining.while slags added with quartz sand and spar are free running slag and make the lining worn.

Abstract:
It is investigated in this paper that weldability of the 40MnV(Ti)microalloyed non-quenched and tempered steel,by such as the slit type cracking test,the hot tensile test,the synthetic weld thermal cycle test and the welded joint performance test.It is shown that 40MnV(Ti) steel has good resitance to cold cracking and liquation cracking,there isn't embrittlement in HAZ. The welded joint compared with base metal is higher in strength and in absorbed energy.

The pellets with metallization >90%are smeLted in an electric arc furnace,Then the titania-rich slag are separated.A acidlysis percent of the slags with ∑Ti2O3/∑TiO2O·3~0.5is higher because there are more anosovite,m[(Mg, Fe, Mn)O· 2TiO2n[(Ti,Al)2O3·TiO2]which is casy acid soluble in the slags. Abstract:
Methods for preparation of titanium dioxide pigment and high purity Sc2O3 from B.F. slag at Panzhihua I. & S. Co. are introduced.The BA01-01 titanium dioxide was produced by rational use of element interaction in acidolysis liquor,control of aluminium removal,modification of total ion concentration in titanium liquor and preparation of high activity seed crystal.Sc2O3 of up to 99, 99% grade was recovered from waste acid after hydrolysis using full extraction method. The technology is widely applicable.

Abstract:
In order to solve the problem existed in the precipitation Stage of V2O5 Shop,Panzhihua Iron and Steel,the solubility of APV was investigated,main cause why the vanadium loss is large is found out and the prodution process was improved. The waste water containing solid APV from the precipitation of APV is treated by means of PE sintered microporous filter. The vanadium recovery is increased and the environmental pollution is reauced.

The principle of world-wide universal rolling technology,plant layout,pass design and their effects on the dimensional accuracy of heavy rail section are reviewed.An investigation is conducted on the inherent problems of traditional rail and beam mills and the primary causes of rail dimensional variation,It is proposed that the current use of universal rolling technology is a method to improve heavy rail rolling tolerance. The suggestions are put forward for Panzhihua I. & S. Co.to adopt this technology.
