WEN Yongcai, DONG Yanhua, WANG Tao, DU Dexin, WANG Jian
1998, 19(3): 7-13.
Abstract(19) PDF(0)
Abstract:
The experiment of manganese ore direct alloying for. increasing [Mn] content in steel was carried out. The factors influencing on [Mn] content in steel and manganese yield were studied. The results show that [Mn] content in steel and manganese yield can be increased by decreasing (TFe) of slag, controlling basicity of slag in the range of 2~4 and increasing [C] content and temperature in steel. The reducing ability of SiC for reduction of (MnO) in slag is superior to that of coke. Manganese ore direct alloying technique can indirectly improve desulphurizing ability of slag

1998, 19(3): 26-29,40.
Abstract(25) PDF(0)
Abstract:
The high carbon low manganese hot rolled steel rail is subject to heat treatment, using double frequency induction heating and slack quenching with compressed air. The PD275kg/m heat treated rail was developed which is characterized by fine pearlitic structure;a depth of hardened layer ≥ 15mm and mechanical property:σ0.22815~980MPa, σb1185~1340MPa, δ510%~15%, room temperature impact toughness aK 14~33J/cm2, average fracture toughness KIc 45.5MPa·m1/2. The newly developed rail has a fair combined property of high strength, good ductility and toughness, and excellent service performance with its service life over twice that of the U71Mn hot rolled rail.
EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON UP-GRADING PRIMARY SULPHUR-COBALT CONCENTRATE
ZHOU Jun, DAI Xiangdong
1998, 19(3): 30-33.
Abstract(14) PDF(0)
Abstract:
An Investigation was made into the morphology of sulphur and cobalt in the primary sulphur-cobalt concentrate. indicating that it is possible to improve the grade of sulphur-cobalt concentrate with floating process. And the laboratory tests with floating process and open circuit process were carried out. The open circuit test suggests that with twice cleaning and once scavenging process, concentrate containing sulphur of 37.43 % and cobalt of 0.291 % can be obtained and recovery of 77.60% and 87.04% can be respectively achieved’ As a result,"Three times of cleaning and once scavenging" process is recommended for industrial test.

LIU Jianming, JIANG Sheng, RAO Jiating, YU Fucheng, DENG Jun
1998, 19(3): 34-40.
Abstract(22) PDF(0)
Abstract:
The authors have studied the fire point, explosion properties and combustion characteristics of coal blend which contains anthracite with 20%~50% semi-bituminous coal. The results show safely Injection of the coal blend under the existing condition of Pangang blast furnace coal injection system can be realized. It is beneficial to improvement of coal grinding efficiency and combustion properties of pulverized coal; therefore, resulting in the Increase of coal injection rate and decrease of cost of coal injection.

WEN Guangyuan
1998, 19(3): 41-46,50.
Abstract(26) PDF(0)
Abstract:
The laboratory experiments of external desulphurization of hot metal containing vanadium and titanium with injection method were carried out. The desulphurizing rate, desulphurizer consumption and temperature drop of the hot metal using the lime, calcium carbide and magnesium-base composite desulphurizers as well as the influence of technological conditions on the desulphurization were analysed.

WEN Guanghua, WANG Shuibo, ZHAO Kewen
1998, 19(3): 47-50.
Abstract(23) PDF(0)
Abstract:
The hot state chalacteristics of the secondary cooling nozzles used for Pangang slab Continuous Caster were systematically measured with heat transfer coefficient measurement apparatus. The relations between heat transfer coefficient and surface temperature of strand under different water flow rate and air flow rate were obtained. The research results provide a basis for selecting nozzles and optimizing secondary cooling system.

ZHONG Yong
1998, 19(3): 59-64.
Abstract(31) PDF(0)
Abstract:
The mathematical model has been developed for the estimation of the gas flow distribution in the blast furnace throat based on the back-propagation algorithm of artificial neural network. The mathematical model on-line runs on VAX computer for the No. 4 blast furnace at Pangang, and continuously estimates the gas flow distribution in the blast furnace throat. The hitting percent for the model to estimate the gas flow distribution reaches 82%,which shows high performance in guiding blast furnace operation.
