Abstract:
To decide on the proper coal blending plan, a combustion experiment with individual and blending coals injected into blast furnace at PZH Steel was carried out in laboratory.It is concluded that coal blending can improve the combustion properties of anthracite coal.Coal blending combination and mixing-ratio have obviously effect upon combustion rate of blending coals.Among the blended coals composted of several coals, better combustion efficiency has been achieved at 40%~50% smoke coal blending rate.Apart from the chemical composition, the microstructure of coal has an effect on combustion efficiency.

Abstract:
Physical chemistry properties of various mixing coals in Panxi area has been measured and the industrial-scale experiment on injection of mixing pulverized coals into blast furnace has been carried out in PZH Steel.Burden ratio of lean coal is increased gradually from 10% to 25% with the result of 113.81kg/tFe coal ratio.Coal ratio of 139.14 kg/tFe has been reached with an average mixing ratio of 35.00% lean coal in the first half year of 2000.

Abstract:
In accordance with the problems on the production of continuous casting of low alloy steel at PZH Steel and based on the research upon effect of RE oxide(RExOy) on the properties of mold powder and the reaction of RE elements to melting slag,mold powder with strong ability of absorption and solution of RExOy and non-reaction to RE elements was developed through the choice of raw materials and the effect of fluxes on the properties of mold powder.From industrial scale experiment it is concluded that the developed mold powder has met with good results,such as the rate without slab surface finishing>90%,excellent lubrication and lower breakout rate.

Abstract:
A trial on pretreatment process of hot metal desulfurization with magnesium packed wire was carried out in the laboratory.It is conclude that the rational desulfurizing agent composition,proper bath depth,good diffusion in the bath and low oxygen content in hot metal play a key role in improving the utilization and desulfurization efficiency of magnesium.

Abstract:
According to different deformation rates in various parts of rail head after rail straightening,stress and bending moment were analyzed in the process of rail straightening by means of the mechanics of materials and elasticity.Meanwhile the result of simulation test on three-point bending of rail in laboratory was discussed and the initial reasons of inhomogeneous deformation of rail head and surface deformation in the process of rail straightening had been found out.

Abstract:
Effect of casting factors in continuous casting process on “cavity” defect of cold rolled sheet is investigated.It is concluded that longer ladle casting time (≥16 min) will obviously increase the “cavity” defect rate in the cold rolled products.Under open casting,if various anomalous operation factors act at same time,the amount of inclusion in continuous cast slab will be increased to form more “cavity” defects in the products.

Abstract:
the application of single-layer long brick to converter at PZH Steel is introduced.It is concluded that the proper and uniform lining erosion is obtained and base furnace life is increased largely after the application of single-layer long bricks,which provides steadily base practice for slag splashing lining protection.Meanwhile,the ratio of converter capacity is increased,which provides the favorable conditions for increments of converter volume and output.

Based on the problems of mold vibration measuring system on quick maintenance platform in continuous casting, the measuring system was modernized.The installation system runs smoothly so that the perfect functions and reliable measuring data have been obtained since that.As the maintenance conditions were improved, the longer service life of maintenance platform, shorter service time, low equipment fault rate and breakout in the production had been achieved.It provides the good conditions for high performance continuous casting.
